Pestival was good
Well, we had a good time at Pestival. The kids got to see a few of the small observation hives (single frames, including the one inside the bee cab) and they particularly enjoyed the walk-through termite mound and digging for maggots. Cool. Oh, and Saskia liked stroking the enormous stag beetle larvae as it wriggled in the soil. All good - shame I forgot to take the camera!

Hi Kenzie
ReplyDeleteI'd heard about Pestival. What a great idea and hopefully it will help to "educate" some of the unconverted. Do you think it will be an annual event? BTW amazing pic in the title block above - is that your own? - photo rather than finger, I mean.
P.S. I hope the sun is shining for you too and your bees are busy.
I have no information on whether Pestival will be an annual thing. It seemed well run and well attended so there's always a chance, though I suspect it will depend to some extent whether insects are so "in" next year.
ReplyDeleteRe the photo on the header of my blog, it's beautiful, eh? No sadly it's not one of mine, and in fact as soon as I get myself a decent one of the right proportions I'm going to swap it in since I feel a little guilty about people asking if I took the one that's there right now.
